Cheap Vacations to Myrtle Beach

The Pavilion at Myrtle Beach

Did you know that Myrtle Beach, South Carolina only has 25,000 permanent residents, however millions of tourists visit every year?   Why?   Myrtle Beach has 9.5 miles of beautiful wide Atlantic beaches, with over 200 days of sunshine annually.   You will find tons of activities in addition to the beach, such as golfing, an oceanfront amusement waterpark, dining hotspot House of Blues, and (my personal fave) shopping

Travelocity.com currently has last-minute 4-night packages to Myrtle Beach starting at $624, which include the round-trip flight from Seattle, staying at the  Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Little River.   This is a cheap vacation, because the cheapest round-trip flight from Seattle to Myrtle Beach is currently about $480, if you were to purchase it alone.   So, that makes the hotel portion only $36 per night!   This Holiday Inn has some great reviews on Travelocity, and is located 3 miles from the beach.  For only $9 more, you can stay at the Holiday Inn Surfside Beach hotel, which is located right on the beach.  Travelocity also offers vacation packages to Myrtle Beach from only $556, if you book earlier.

FAST FACT: What is Myrtle Beach is named after? The Wax Myrtle tree!

Priceline.com currently has some even cheaper vacations to Myrtle Beach.   From only $527 you can fly and stay 4 nights in either a Days Inn or Best Western.   I typically try to stay in “boutique” hotels (not the big chains) while I’m away, so for $538 you can fly & stay at the oceanfront Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, 2 miles from the Family Kingdom Amusement Park.  Now, if we go back and do the math, that puts the hotel at only $14.50 per night….!  So, you are definately saving when you book the hotel and flight together.

Hotels.com is having a free hotel promotion in South Carolina.  If you book 4-nights in a Carolina hotel (including the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes!) you get the 4th night free!

I double-checked the Marina Inn website, and these rooms go for $164 per night, for the night I tested.   On Hotels.com, you pay $169/night for 3 nights and get the 4th night free.  Great deal, but it expires at the end of September.
